SMART-I - Scholastic Management Aptitude Requirement Test


What is the SMART I?

The SMART I is the Scholastic Management Aptitude Requirement Test developed and designed by the Business School of Thammasat University. All students who wish to enter the Thai undergraduate programs at the Thammasat Business School as well as students who wish to apply for direct entrance to the international Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) are required to take the SMART I.

Test Content

The SMART I is divided into four different sections: Mathematics, Critical Reading, English and General Knowledge. All but the English section of the test are conducted in Thai.

1.     Mathematics (Thai): This section tests the candidate’s skills in mathematics in algebra, real numbers, set theory, functions, analytic geometry, sequence and series, permutation and combination, probability and statistics. Candidates have 60 minutes to complete this section.

2.     Critical Reading (Thai): This section assesses the candidate’s critical reading skills. The emphasis lies on analyzing passages or paragraphs and writing conclusions and evaluations of the reading material. Candidates have 60 minutes to complete this section.

3.     English: This section tests the candidate’s English language skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar. Candidates have 60 minutes to complete this section.

4.     General Knowledge (Thai): This section covers various topics, such as business, economics, social studies, politics, technology and current affairs. Candidates have 15 minutes to complete this section.
